Medical Assisting is the program for you if…
— a college preparatory level course that prepares students to further their education for careers in the medical field (NOT ONLY MEDICAL ASSISTING), for the business world and/or to help prepare for entry-level positions in these fields is of value to you…
— hearing from numerous medically related speakers about their careers and experience, getting to go on fun field trips and having the opportunity to job shadow or participate in a clinical experience in a business in the community sounds interesting…
–as part of the Business Academy potentially earning COLLEGE CREDITS while taking this class (saving time, $$$$ and energy) and being a step ahead in college because you are already familiar with a lot of the terms and concepts is significant to you…
Save thousands of dollars by earning college credits!!
The Business Academy is located on the second floor of the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology and offers high school juniors and seniors from BHS, TA, KHS, OOB and Massabesic who have maintained a GPA of a B- or better, the opportunity to earn college credits upon successful completion of this program. Instruction is based on standards that have been verified as relevant by employers and are taught by instructors who are certified to offer college credits.
College Credits at the Business Academy Maybe Earned in Two Ways:
Articulation Agreements— Articulation agreements are just fancy words for an arrangement between the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology and various colleges and universities. A program you have taken here with successful completion criteria (check for details) will earn up to six college credits at that college. Generally, this means when you get to college you won’t have to take classes that will repeat information you have already learned at the Center of Technology …saving you time, energy and money!!
Dual Enrollment—high school students are enrolled at a sponsoring college/university and this school at the same time, earning credits at both. Upon successful completion of the classe at BRCOT, students will receive a transcript from that college or university. The college credits earned are fully transferable to most other colleges and universities. …again saving you time, energy and money!!
