BRCOT Students Compete in Tyler Technology’s Maine App Challenge
Eleven students from Biddeford Regional Center of Technology’s Information Technology class submitted mobile apps into Tyler Technology’s Maine App Challenge. On Sunday, June 3rd, two BRCOT students were recognized as finalists in the contest. Biddeford senior Kyle Tippetts’ app was called the “Biddeford Immigration App” and was designed to help new residents of Biddeford find their way around the city, highlighting grocery stores, local retailers, bus routes, and community services. Kyle created the app to be easy to use and all pages were translated into English and Swahili.
Biddeford junior Michael Tracy’s app was called “Words” and was created to help students improve their vocabulary and their SAT scores. The app featured a flashcard section, a quiz section, and a fill-in-the-blank section. Users could play a game to increase their vocabulary.
